Observation Systems ComponentsA surveillance system can be as simple as one camera connected to the video input of your TV or to hundreds of cameras hooked up to multiple DVRs being recorded continuously with available viewing and configuration over the Internet (gaming casinos come to mind). Wireless systems can transmit to a receiver wired via a cable to your TV. Many come with a small monitor that you can use to watch the wireless cameras by themselves without tying up the television. More details and diagrams of setting up a simple one-camera system can be found on the cameras help page. Most surveillance systems consist of more than one camera. Some sort of switching or processor device to view more than one camera on a single monitor will be necessary. Of course, you could set up a system with the single cameras hooked up to their own individual monitors. |
